You are passionate about sustainable politics and committed to research and/or to practice within the field of peace and conflict studies?
The Conflict, Peace and Democracy (CPD) Policy Blog is welcoming contributions from researchers and practitioners from across all disciplines and fields of practice. The Policy Blog was set up at the Institute of Legal Foundations of the Karl-Franzens-University Graz (Austria) in cooperation with the Network Shabka – within the Conflict, Peace and Democracy Cluster in the beginning of 2017.
The increased complexity of modern day conflicts requires a systematic approach to reflect and propose new insights into policy making processes. Based on this understanding, the impact of research in peace and conflict studies shows great potential to inform these processes and public as well as governmental opinion. Hitherto, knowledge and expertise stemming from this field of research has been neglected during regional and international policy making.
The aim of the Policy Blog is to provide recommendations for the broad field of policy making: from engagement of grass roots movements to decision-making by government officials. With this intention, we would like to provide knowledge and facilitate an open dialogue with policy actors from diverse perspectives and expertise from all various fields of science.
We firmly believe that innovative can have a positive impact on building the capacities of policy-makers. Thus, we encourage you to contribute to stimulating public debate and offer creative and practical solutions to tackle the world's most pressing problems.
